Default Up to late retarded idea

I was thinking about trying this but was concerned about pressure drops. Couldn't one run a mugen intake to their turbo? It would all depend upon the manifold you have but a full race would appear to have pretty good clearance to fab up the piping to run from the intake side of the turbo to the filter on the mugen intake. The only catch is there would be a very sharp and sudden right angle since it is going to the turbo and not the intake manifold like it was designed for (if only I knew a fiberglass or the like fabber to make one with the intake on the opposite side, then it would be perfect). Any inherent problems with such a bend? Short of the aforementioned pressure drop I can't think of any other than perhaps the length of piping.

I am sure many are going to ask, why bother? Well one I am running the Mugen S.S. front end. I was thinking the ram air effect would help get plenty of nice clean air to the turbo. Kind of a poor mans ptunning(?) setup if I recall the nice turbo intake setup on their car.

Then again this might be a really retarded idea, let me hear your thoughts either way.

For reference sake here is what the replica intake looks like

I did a CAI like this:

Wow it makes a big difference in air temp to the compressor vs. just pulling HOT air in from an open filter that is between the radiator and engine block. Compressor efficiency is directly affected by ambient air temp. I''ll post some before and after air intake temps.
I'm sure a filter intake that goes over the radiator can be made, although it seems like it would be the worst geometry to go about it. Keep in mind also that carbon fiber alone has a high coefficient of thermal conductivity so you really don't want it too dry. This simply means you want a high resin content, maybe ~50% resin. I'd suggest some insulation between the intake and the radiator also.

I think you need more stickers in front of your radiator...

lol I gained 20whp when I added them and got a tune, so the stickers must be good for 10hp.
