Default Updated: Comptech SC Dyno and AFR

So when I first had my S2k dyno'd there was what seemed to be some detonation after 7k and the AFR was running 12.5:1 in that same range. I checked the plugs and it turns out the previous owner was running the OEM plugs at stock gap. I replaced the plugs with NGK resistor copper plugs (BK7RE?) added a fuel pressure gauge and redyno'd.

The runs were we went to 8k the power was up to where it was expected to be and after adding in about ~2-3lbs of fuel pressure the AFR is down around 12.2:1-12.4:1 in that same range with no detectable missing or detonation. The tuner said it seemed fine and he would leave it alone so I did.

Here are todays pulled corrected ( you can see the power falling off as it was getting hotter) and then the first and last pull today vs the first and last pull on the dyno day. It look like I'm where I wanted to be, safe, so I'll leave it alone.

Thanks for the advice all of you have offered to help get this worked out.

AFR from today

Power comparison vs dyno day with stock plugs

AFR comparison vs dyno day with stock plugs fuel pressure increased ~2 lbs

Good to see the numbers are where they should be.

A/F seems to be within a safe range expect for that little spike. I'm sure a little tuning with an emanage would yeild some nice mid-range gains but if your happy, thats what counts

Yeah Chris said the spike was his software if you're talking about that dramatic one after VTEC on the one pull. Cars feels great and I feel much more comfortable driving it hard now so the peace of mind was worth it. Having nobody else there and getting some time to talk to Chris I'd recommend him and his shop to anyone. Down to earth guy that wants the best for his customers and wasnt trying to rape me or talk smack about imports even though his bread and butter is Fords.

congrats man! If you ever got a VAFC, you could lower the VTEC point and make some nice gains midrange!

Glad to see the plugs helped out with the setup!

nice job! i know it's very disheartening to have problems with a lightly modded CTSC kit when it's supposed to be the most simple, bolt-on, and reliable way to go FI.
