i was wondering who has had experience in buying and using a used S/C and what the warranty is like??? what prices would be about right???

No warranty from either Vortech or Comptech whe you buy it used.

I would have bought a used one if I could have found one at the time . It would have saved me a lot of cash .

Also be sure to take into account how many miles were put on the blower before you buy it...the mileage would definitely have some sort of impact on the pricing...

Used is definitly the way to go. I picked up a Vortech with 9lbs pulley, AEM EMS, and the front mount for $5600. Sure it was a little more complitaced to install because somethings where already done and it was harder to follow the instuctions, and because of the number of parts, some things where not shipped...but in the end it turned out to be the best way to go if you are on a budget.

Non aftercooled Comptech went for $3000 here. That was INSTALLED.
If you can get your hands on one try to get the installation included unless your doing it yourself.
