Default Vafc II and comptech supercharger info

Ok, so I've had my comptech supercharger kit on for several weeks now with no problems. AFR is low 11s pre vtec, low 13s at transition and mid 12s to redline. This is all with the ct esm and FPR.

Ive heard that I could pick up an extra couple horses down low by leaning out pre vtec to 12.5. That and lowering vtec will give me a flatter band.

I know that I can only subtract fuel, which is what I want and can check via my wideband. What do you guys recommend for the vtec point?

Also I have the boomslang harness that came from my emanage ultimate. I plan to wire the Vafc to that and plug it in. Will this be ok with the esm?

Don't bother with a VAFC2, it leans it out yes but introduces knock at the top end (i seen this on the dyno when on 6.5psi with bolt ons) - the last thing you want to do is advance ignition timing in WOT when going forced induction. When you remove fuel it add ignition timing and vice versa when richening out - you cannot do anything to stop this as it inadvertently advance timing.

This is down side of tuning purely via a map sensor, you'll probably be able to get away with it lower down but not in vtec.

And the ESM will limit what the VAFC2 can do because its reducing the range the vafc2 has to work with (voltage).

TBH 12.5 is a little too lean at the top end, i run a GEMU at its 11.9 @redline, 12.5 pre vtec (vtec@4k) and 12.2 after vtec to redline - I'm running just over 8psi with bolt on's.

And vtec point is totally dependent on your car if you have a testpipe etc, on mine it was 5100rpm but was better at 4k with a GEMU.

I had a missing link instead of the ESM, 2 min job Vs 1 hour job and it worked pretty well apart from the knock issue, plus the missing link didnt voltage clamp the map sensor.

Ouch really, don't use the Vafc? Did you have one before?

Ideally I suppose I'd like to run a little on the safer side than 12.5, but I'm at the end of adjustment with the FPR. I'm hoping the rewire kit and new 340lph pump I have coming in will give me a little more room.

I thought there was part throttle issues with the missing link?

I would talk to s2k junky? Or something like that. He has been using the vafc for a while with his kit. However he also uses meth injection.

The fuel pump should be plenty fine unless it has gone bad. You could just be maxing out your injectors. I know I was with my stock vortech kit. So needed injectors and stand alone to get the job done.

I had the missing link for a little while. It did the trick but it was not that great around town. Had a bunch of hiccups and shudders partial throttle driving.

Don't half ass the tuning. Just get an AEM or Hondata. The VAFC offers no timing control.

Never had one problem with the missing link TBH, initially i thought it was but the wire on the primary o2 sensor would short out sometimes on the underneath.

Yes i ran a VAFC2 with my CTSC - my knowledge/experience isn't from here say its what I've seen on my own car on a dyno. When i switched to the GEMU i instantly gained 10-15bhp because i was able to retard timing over the vafc2.

Its very roughly -0.5 degree per psi, however sometime its more throughout the rev range.

So I shouldn't bother? I was just looking for a leaner pre vtec at wot and a lower vtec engagement point.
