Aftercoolers - water/air are the way to go for supercharged applications anyway. They provide the full beans of boost the blower provides sans.5psi loss typical, and more consistent temps to tune around. If you really want to cool the charge temps down, you run a water/meth injection system.

Rotrex blower spin double the speed of a typical Paxton/vortec blower however and produce more heat. May be why air to air was chosen for these kits, but your goin to get more radical IAT sweeps and a lot more boost loss and probably some added engine/throttle response loss.

With a vertical core you're going to be looking at minimum a 9" tall intercooler which will put one inlet/outlet into a frame rail.

The best way to reduce intake temperatures on a supercharged set up is to put the bypass valve pre intercooler. It means all that time you are cruising around you arent dumping loads of warm air from the supercharger into the intercooler. Doing this made a huge difference to my intake temperatures. It means your intercooler only has to deal with the air being ingested by the engine. When you think about it, its a waste of time cooling air through an intercooler and then dumping it to atmosphere. Get rid of it before it goes through the intercooler. I have had mine like that for a good 2 years or so with no issues. The only potential issue is that the bypass valve/BOV sees alot higher temperatures and is normally hot to touch at the end of a journey.

I had never heard about that, but it seems pretty intelligent ! Just have to hope that the high BOV temperature will not affect it.
It is estonishing that absolutely nobody does like that. There must be a reason...
I will document about this idea, thanks

For those of us using a typical aftercooler with their SOS/Comptech systems this is common practice to unhook the recirc valve and let it work like an open BOV dumping that spent heat to atmosphere.

It was so loud and annoying I ended up recirc-ing it . Love hearing just the exhaust now but I wonder what the temp differences are.

If your running low pressure (8psi) like i am and the stock Bosch recirc valve it is totally inaudible until it blows off, which is great since that's more like a turbo. But yeah back when I was running 18psi and tandem 25mm Bosch and Turbo smart it was all I heard when cruising and it was rather obnoxiousness I agree.

You might experiment and run tandems like I did and recirc one and open dump the other factory Bosch. I don't know what your using. No doubt your increasing your IAT, how much is hard to say. I'd think a few ponies on the dyno and some throttle response.
