Thumbs up Vortech+4.77's or stock diff?

Well I think I am selling or trading my 4.77 diff for stock diff. Found someone already about probably going to go through with it shortly.
Just thought I would ask for those that have done it before and experienced both.
I have the 4.77's installed now and have a Vortech SC kit at home I plan to install in not too long.
I found someone to trade plus cash on their end for an ap1 diff with stock gearing.
I go through the gears so fast already I think with boost it will be waay too short.
Anyone do this? I do plan to up the boost in the spring or summer but until then would just be stock boost.
Would the stock gearing help out on highway pulls and all? Seems like it would allow me to stay in the power band longer before having to shift again now?

I would think the 4.77's would work well with that kit. I think your over think it, I would keep them IMO. Now a turbo car may be a differnt story

Wouldn't I go through the gears super fast then?
Like now I go through 2nd gear so damn fast already with just the gears.
I plan to up the boost to like 12 lbs or so in the spring or summer and it really seems like it would be overkill with the gears no?

hmmm damn probably would be fun to keep them. I get a little tired of the 5k rpm's at 80 mph but not too bad really. Found someone to trade plus $700 cash on their side so I think I will just go for it. Love the gears but bought them as a band aid to not enough power which won't be an issue anymore once I am sc'd.

u want the 4.77s with the supercharger since boost is built by rpm.. which means u build boost faster.. if it were turbo.. u want the gears taller so you stay in boost longer.. id opt to keep them, but its ur decision

You do not want 4.77's if you race on the highway or do 1/4 mile. In the 1/4 your going to have to shift to 5th to finish the 1/4 and that will hurt your time and on the highway your going to run out of gearing quickkk

But then can't you say the opposite as well. Since it goes through the rpm's quicker yes you will get into the power quicker but once you are there you are out of it faster as well and then have to shift. With the longer gears wouldn't you stay at the higher rpm's longer in each gear since it does not go through the gear as quickly then?

Just try it with the gears once you have the SC installed.

Well I'm sure it will be fun but could use the $700 extra on top and was gonna just do that but hoping that I won't actually be losing lots of performance which I don't think I will be doing.
