Default Vortech Air Assist

Vortech makes a part that adds air to the oil going to the bearings in the supercharger. This is noted to free up power.
I was wondering if anyone on here has any experience with it.

They are popular in Australia and we know how Aussies love that power.

Do you think we have the room to run those with our brackets? It's also pumping in compressed (hot) air in, so I'm not sure if there would be any sort of cooling effect... Admittedly, my knowledge of how these things help make the blower more efficient is very limited. What have you heard/read about them?

From CAPA in Australia:

Vortech's patented air assist oil drainback valve bleeds a small amount of boost to atomize oil as it enters the supercharger, reducing pooling and increasing mechanical efficiency through lower frictional losses. In testing we have seen as much as 5-10 kW power improvement from making the supercharger more efficient in energy drag.


10 kW is 13.41 hp so it may be significant.

I have not checked the fit at this point.

Once air enters the blower thru the oil feed line, does that mean it's also going to continuously pressurize the crankcase as it 'vents' thru the oil drain line?

Yes the CAPA guys said I needed the Air Assist if I were going for high HP.

I got it installed on my brand new Vortech "Ti" the Ti is the updated version of the "T" with a new type design of impeller. T series being the Novi 1500.

I'll see what the other guys who are installing my set-up have to say about it.
