I've heard of two in a row so 3 or 4 is not out of the question. The black box reputation is so bad I just skipped the black box and went to the AEM EMS from the get go and never looked back.

even though someone in your case might not pass emissions by the fumes alone (correct me if Im wrong, its a blind assumption). But if it did, you still cant pass CA emissions b/c of the EMS correct? Thats why you must have a few "friends" in the business.

Mine has worked fine since 02, but I believe it's on the way out. Very rarely I'll get a CKP DTC that doesn't re-occur for months.

Mine lasted about a week before it took a crap. Not cool when you're in rush hour traffic in the DC metro area.

When you wired it up, did you go by the written instructions or the wiring diagram? The written instructions are incomplete and should NOT be used. ONLY the wiring diagram is correct and complete. If you wired it up using only the written instructions, this may be the problem.

follow the picture not the wording. You would think they would catch a simple mistake

Mine failed as well. I drove over and got a replacement which did work.

It's the best alternative by far

But keep in mind once you go EMS might as well do a pulley and injector upgrade. Uh oh, the go fast crack pipe has been lit
