Ok, almost done with my vortech install (just need the fuel pump done and "tee" the timing comp to the manifold n i'm set ..)... Everything looks good, no leaks, visual checks ok, but i noticed a slight "rattling sound" at idle... Is this normal? Everything seems fine, just driving it below 4k for now... I want to check it out now but its a lil too dark right now... atleast there's not check engine light! *cross fingers.. Just wanted to see if this is normal.. Thanks!

 

It's normal gear backlash inside the SC's step up gear drive. All centrifugal SC's make some noise.

Yes it is normal, mine does it too. I thought forever that mine was way lousder than everyone else because I heard Viper's video. But I have heard numerous Vortechs and they soudn the same. You probably wont hear it as much when you do a cold start and the revs are about 2000 rpms.

 

Same here...rattling and grinding noise. They're just normal and it's a matter of getting use to the sound.
