Thumbs up Vortech (Potential Problem)

Hey guys, i will try to explain this best i can. first off been supercharged since this past winter. Car is performing great and running 278rwhp on the dyna pack. But i am running lean, mid - high 16's under boost (car is completely stock except for the Vortech SC on my 2002 and upgraded clutch and pp) Anyways i know i need to get more fuel to it and still figuring out the best route, but i have the Split second timing (black box) for the retard, and for some reason my car gets like a "sputter" or "missing" right at 4K rpm. I think it just needs fine tuned. I have the capabilities to upload a new MAP to it, but does anyone have suggestions at all?
The car performs just fine and no problems such as detonation, or anything, just want to make sure it's safe and im not harming the engine at all, and it has 25K miles on it.

I know I had someone email me the base votech MAP before for the retard and dont know if there's anyone else out there with a MAP for the vortech "black box" that has it running great or not, but let me know any suggestions that may help. Thanks guys!

Any info would be greatly appreciated

Yeah thats right, couldn't remember who it was, thanks for it slows2k.... i feel the car is running great, i just sputters every now and then at 4K rpm, also when i had it dyno'd it ran about 278 rwhp but like i said it is running very lean. I know i need to adjust the fuel pressure but we cannot adjust it thru the black box right? That's just for timing retard, correct? Like i said the sputter not a huge worry, i think it all comes down to the fuel but just seeing if anyone had a related instance at all! Thanks so much for ur help SlowS2K. I greatly appreciate it.

Timing control only with the Split second unit. Extra fuel is handled with the FMU on a stock Vortech kit.

How lean is "Very lean" on your car?

Just like someone else posted on here, the manual on vortech's site for our car, 2002, says to drill a hole in the FPR, i never did that, could that be why? it's figure 7C on it. http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/...s/4HS218im.pdf

I've never done it to mine, but it's worth a shot.

Right, maybe i'll give them a call tomorrow and see what they say, my copy did not say it, but the link to the site has it and it does say it's recommended for the MY01-03 as well. Definitely maybe something they figured out after wards.
Can i ask what setup for the fuel you are using? I want to get a little more horsepower and I want my AF ratio to be correct!
