Default Vortech S/C issues

My car is a 2000 s2k and a vortech supercharger was just recently installed yesterday but the car wont start. The mechanic said the car will start without the black box hooked up, but with it, it wont go. The vortech black box is brand new and the mechanic assures me that the wiring is all correct. I know that there were problems with the vortech black box malfunctioning, but could anyone give me any other suggestions to what the problem could be before I decide to send it back or do anything else. Thanks and have a nice day!

I am curious to know if Vortech replaces the black box free of charge since its a know issue? or do you have to pay them to replace it?

Actually you need to following the wiring diagram. If you follow the directions your car will be wired wrong. A lot of people sent back perfectly good boxes because of this problem including me.

Recheck the wiring job repeatedly. It only takes 1 bad connection to not let the car start. The written directions are wrong, only use the diagram.

The wiring was correct and it seems like the box is the problem. A friends black box was hooked up to my car and it runs fine. I'm going to contact vortech to see if I can get another box. Thanks for all your help guys!

So I call vortech and they say that there is only a 1 year warranty on the black box. I guess i'll just have to buy an AEM EMS cause $800 for that box seems a little ridiculous. Maybe I shouldn't have waited 2 years to install my kit.

So what are the differences in the 1012 and the 1052 unit? Which one should I get?
