Default vortech supercharger

I just recently installed a vortech supercharger/aftercooler w/ tech 2 front mount radiator. The car is a lot faster and fun to drive! Anyone with this kit experience a loud clanking noise coming from the compressor at idle? It sounds like metal-to-metal. I called vortech and they say its normal and that it goes away when you apply throttle. If someone can relate to the same situation I have then I would feel a lot better and can sleep. any info will help thanks!

oh, I forgot to mention that my car is a 01 if that makes a difference.

If anyone needs a comptech intake I have one for sale I no longer need!!!!!!

You are hearing normal backlash of the internal drive gears inside the SC. The V2 SQ is actually fairly quiet for a Vortech, the T-trim with straight cut gears is MUCH louder.

i think he's talking crank hp since he got 239 stock... not sure though, maybe his motor was built and he was making 239whp w/built motor.

It's at crank, like someone else suggested the 239 are also at crank. I've 258.4 HP at the wheels, but the engine gets very fat running from 6500 on Lamba less than 0.85 (can anybody transfer that to air/fuel ratio?)

Bye,

Andreas
