vortech supercharger AP1
Hey guys ill admitt im kinda new to the supercharger game, i recently picked up a 2000 s2000 with a vortech super charger i have a couple questions
1. It is currently setup with the aftercooler piping to a bigger intercooler then what came with the kit, is there any issues i sould look into? coolant level in the aftercooler?
2. Im looking to find something to tune it with, there isnt any dynos within 300 miles is there something where i could do it myself?
3. Im looking to put some money into my car this summer i for sure want to do a clutch and flywheel, i wouldnt mind going a little lighter on the flywheel but i dont want to loose my torque from a dig... suggestions????
4. Here is a list of MODS. what would u do next to make it quicker??
-vortech kit... includes fuel pump, injectors, black box etc
-koyo radiator
-full invidia exhaust
-gears are at 4,44 's now
-Plus i need a clutch!
Any help would be appreciate

I have Vortech V2 and I run an 11 lb flywheel. Definitely makes it rev faster. I have also looked into a bigger inter-cooler for the after-coolers water and so far it looks like you have to buy a universal one, vortech doesn't stock one.
For more speed you could get a carbon SOS street clutch. Its lighter weight helps revs just like the flywheel. Maybe lighter pulleys too. Maybe run an AEM meth kit, that will let you getting better tuning and make more power. Also try a smaller pulley on the V2, you can make another 40 whp or so. A Hytech FI header and a HFC or big test pipe are good too. If your invidia isn't 70mm you may want to open that up too. FI needs capacity.
I can't help you on tuning though. Maybe find someone who does street tunes, the ones where they drive it instead of using a dyno.

If you want to make it faster get a smaller pulley and make the drive to someone who knows how to tune S2000's well. Will need injectors, clutch and engine management to be tuned as well.
As far as the coolant level in the aftercooler, pop the cap off and see if you need to add more.
Nice clutch option would be a new oem clutch disc and the ACT HD pressure plate. I have that combo and love it. Drives just like stock but holds over 400whp no problem.

K I know on the aftercooler with the stock intercooler they say to pop the top coolant line off the aftercooler and fill till it comes out where that line connects to. What u say do the same with the larger intercooler?
You just have a larger front mount radiator/heat exchanger you are talking about right? If the level is low, add some and then close cap and let it pump it through and then check level again. Might take a few times to get it filled.

Well water cools better than antifreeze. So depends if you want to drain it ever or not. If you are not in a place that freezes then I would use distilled water. I used a 50/50 mix and then added some more distilled water and a bottle of water wetter.
I am going to drain it probably for the spring/summer/fall and not put any antifreeze into it so it will cool better.

AEM EMS series 1.
You don't need to go that big though. There are a few cheaper options that work just as well. AEM is also NOT emissions compliant. It does not put out engine codes so it fails by default.

I think just about all of the US freezes though, even S Florida. Maybe 1-2 times a year, but it happens.
When mine ships (this week?) I plan to use about 10% antifreeze, then water+water wetter.
