Default vortech supercharger questions

Hey looking for advice on a vortech install from current/past owners. How hard is the install, how much would it cost to be installed, and how reliable is the kit? Any other tips or words of advice would be appreciated before i buy...\
Also its the after cooled model, how long can i trust the stock clutch? And is there any way to install and not permanently thrash OEM stuff? Is it necessary to splice any wires (if so anyway around that?)
What general maintenance is required with a S/C kit? sorry im new to this.
THanks in advance guys.

the car can easily be converted back to OEM. Your stock clutch should hold up to stock boost for awhile depending on your mileage. I've been SC'd twice and never had any problem!!

took me 4 days to install by myself.
I soldered wires on ecu harness etc. much safer.

Stock clutch is 1 year old but is slipping at times.

I would install a SOS sport clutch or similar first as blower will be in the way later.

Otherwise very happy

My advice is take your time, do lots of reading on this forum and dont expect Vortech to answere any questions. I have sent them 3 emails and no reply.

good luck

if you plan on turning up the boost in the future makesure you DO the clutch before you get the sc installed because if you get the clutch installed after the sc is installed you have to uninstall the blower and labor costs go way up.

It makes so much more sense to upgrade your clutch before putting the SC on. My clutch is going in April 9th, SC going on in May.

huh??

I'm not familiar with the VT kit, but what stands in the way of clutch replacement?

the blower and the clutch are on two completely different sides of the motor.
someone please explain this one?

u gotta drop the motor a bit to get at top bell housing bolts that hold the box to the motor.

S/c will hit the big strut that is part of the chasis as it tries to move down with the motor.

oh, didn't think of that. but you really just need to unbolt the actual charger right? shouldn't take that long to do.
