Default Vortech v2 supercharger kit questions

So i'm looking to buy a used s/c vortech v2 kit and i have no idea what should be included inside of the sale. The kid i'm buying the kit from says the s/c was rebuilt but how do i know? is it the same thing as a turbo where i check for shaft play etc?

What are the main components of the s/c kit? he says its complete but i don't want to get effed over like when i bought my greddy turbo kit..... he sent me pictures of the s/c itself, the aftercooler, and hardware... is it suppose to come with injectors, walboro fuel pump, and fmu unit?

any help would be much appreciated

okay let me rephrase this how do i know if the kit that im about to purchase is crap? What should i look for. Is it like a turbo in which i should look for shaft play and what not?

I know after i buy this kit i'll have to get a walboro fuel pump since he does not have it anymore. Other than that i do not know what else i would have to get. I don't even know if the kit includes or requires injectors....

Look for shaft play. You dont need injectors unless you are going to boost higher than the stock pulley. They are pretty much bolt on and go type systems unless you are going to use an aem for your engine management.

I was looking through the installation guide forthe v2 and it said I had to mill the fuel rail for the supplied injectors. I just want to go with the stock pulley but what should I do about the injectors? It doesn't say what cc or flow theyre just that they were supplied. I'm going to use the fmu and black box they include in the kit. My power goal is only 330whp. I'd be happy to hit 311 without an ems. If anything I'm looking into doing haltech or kpro down the line so I can still get my car inspected.

They don't come with injectors. The AP2 kit has a 5th injector for the aftercooler but for your AP1 there are no injectors that come with the kit.

I'd suggest getting a standalone even at the stock boost. Some people are fine but others run lean with the vortech kit. I did until I finally got 1000cc ID injectors and a tune on AEM EMS. Night and difference in performance and feel as well.

Get a serier number on blower and call vortech or ask seller for paper work.

If you are new to kit, i highly recommand save more for new kit. Less headche and vortech warranty.

Yeah i'm more than likely going to call vortech to see if it was rebuilt. I head to try and spin it and if it is hard to do it was rebuilt and if it is fairly easy to spin it wasn't.

Well i was planning on going with an emanage ultimate. I'm not really looking to go crazy with it like i said i'm only shooting for around 300+. I'd be happy with 320.

and moddiction hurry up and get ur shift knobs in stock i want the black textured anvil shift knob and everytime i check ur site its OUT OF STOCK!!!!!!

i'm getting the kit for next to nothing... trading him turbo parts i had laying around that have been sitting in my garage's storage for years. All i want to buy is a oil pan bolt where i can use as the oil feed like the greddy turbo kit bolts. I'm not really looking to drill into my oil pan haha.... I wouldn't want to just jb weld it or w/e like they tell you to do. Its hard to find someone that can weld aluminum fairly well.

Only thing missing from the kit is the pulley that i can get easily and a walboro 255 fuel pump. I'm most likely going to take it to minitoyota to get it installed since he is a genius when it comes to boosted s2000s

moddiction and I both went through similar frustrations with our vortech kits before an aem ems. Your gonna end up getting an aem ems eventually so I recommend that you do it right the first time and save yourself the money.

Yeah ran really lean before I upgraded and got the 1000cc injectors and aem ems. Such a massive difference once tuned as well. Picked up lots of power and power delivery is soo smooth now.
Good idea going to Jeff's for the install. He is awesome!
Blower should spin but it has resistance to it when spinning. Make sure the wheel doesn't have any play. Pull it to see if it goes in or out.
I'd really skip the emanage and go aem ems. Can find them used for 800-850 and far superior. Also not many places that tune emanage. Jeff Evans is in PA and is the best tuner there is for aem ems.
Yeah sorry the textured black shift knobs are usually sold out with pre-orders as I do limited amounts of those. Will try to get some stocked in in a few weeks time!
