Default Vortech Winter Prep?

So, winter is about to arrive in a big time way tomorrow here in Chicago, and since I don't have a winter beater, I'll be driving the S around. Luckily I'm in college, and so I don't have to drive very often during the week, because my university has a huge bus system.

But, my car is boosted. Vortech S/C.

So what would you guys recommend for winter prep, besides the usual anti-freeze, checking the belts, etc.?

Run a different viscosity oil? anything special I should worry about w/ the aftercooler?

Thanks for the help!!

Jared

As long as you are not running 100% water in the after-cooler, I don't think any prep is needed. I daily drove my S through 2 Cleveland winters with a Vortech system on it without a hitch. Just keep the RPM down.

P.S. I love Chicago. I used to drive up there every other weekend.

So it's bad to boost in cold weather? If so, at what temp is it bad?

It's not bad, you just won't get traction.
