Thumbs up Vtec not engaging

Ok here we go.... i recently put a turbo on my s2. i have an inlinepro 3mm head gasket, turbonetics t3 t4, no cat invidia exhaust tail 46mm waste gate. im running aem standalone. i havent had the car tunned yet due to the fact that my vtec isnt engaging. i had 650cc injectors in and i was washing out my cylinders so i put the stock ones back good thing i didnt damage anything. so far when im goin through the revs as soon as i hit vtec the car sputters and no power comes? it pretty much falls on its face? im a tech at honda and did everything in my knowlege to fig out the cause.... i swapped selinoids, not the prob, i did a compression test? nothing i checked the oil pressure its good. timming is dead on, i even removed the rocker assembly to make sure the pins that lock the arms together are sliding without resistence they r good. im runnring out of ideas? the oil level is good i even put the stock ecu in to see if it would thow a code NOT A DAMN THING..... all the wiring is good.everything is connected the right way. i have nothing else to go on??? NEED HELP all i want is a bad ass turbo s2000but there is one thing stopping me.its an 03 s2 with 27xxx

I'm lost, your using an AEM EMS untuned right now and no vtec? If thats the case, thats probably your problem, and its also why no CEL (AEM EMS disables that). Which to note, its pretty much stupid to drive the car hard with a turbo untuned, your asking to blow the engine if this is the case.

If your still on the stock ecu, this again is stupid. The stock ecu, after it sees boost, goes into limp mode. So driving it hard without a tune on stock ecu is again asking for a blown engine.

Maybe you want to clear this up?

i removed the charge pipe to make sure im not boosting. i know the aem doesnt throw cel's. i had my laptop hooked up to the aem while driving to make sure its sending the signal engage, in turn i then put on the stock ecu with the charge pipe still removed to then see if it would throw a cel nothing? and it still didnot engage vtec, my aem has a street tune running rich for the turbo not to detonate. i dont know what else. when i have the charge pipe on and im actually boosting i baby the shit out of the car i barley ever go over like 3ks

What's up man it's me from Ebay messages. Personally if I were you I would take that ems to a credited tuner that you plan on tuning your car and let them upload a good basemap for your setup in the EMS and see if that changes anything. Also AEM has some technical problems with the different models of the ems that I have seen.

Yah I have seen a couple in a friends shop that were bad out of the box.

Good luck.

On occasion, I am showing this exact same problem only my setup is different. When my car sits in Vtec too long or gets heat soaked, my car refuses to rev past 6000rpm (fuel cut and the cam won't engage). I still haven't installed/tuned my EMS so I do throw the Vtec sytem failure.

My setup:

VAFC II
440cc injectors
Comptech SC/AC
HKS Exhaust/TP

I check for plenty of oil. The Vtec Solenoid connectors look fine. If I reset my ecu the cars runs normally for a while unless I drive it hard (like track hard), and stay above 6k rpm for more than a few seconds at a time...the next time I come out of Vtec I will run into fuel cut at 6k. Strange and extremely annoying. It's also a serious concern that you're having this problem with the EMS because I was convinced installing and tuning the EMS would rid me of this problem (I thought the problem was my VAFC II).

Help?

Courage - is your VTM wire on the VAFC2 connected? My friend had your SAME PROBLEM EXACTLY and we rewired his unit with the VTM and the problem went away. A few sites online and even Apexi told him he didn't need to hook that wire up for the s2k.
