Default Vtec not engaging

so i have an inline pro turbo on my 2002 s2k. I live in Atlanta. I took my car to a place called top speed sales. the tuner( i think his name was scott) was supposed to be great. so after 5 hours on the dyno he made his first pull ( i know it took him forever to do a coulpe of things). at 6 pounds of boost my car made 210 at the wheel at 6000 rpm. the vtec would not engage. he tried 5 more pulls and it would still not engage. he said the AEM was saying it was engaging but the HP reading wasnt correct and we never heard the engine change over. (you know that super loud roar it makes while vtec is on ) any way, the tuner said he couldnt figure it out. the solenoid was coming, we could here it. everything was set up right on top on the(cams, valve springs, timing etc). the only thing we could think of was the oil pressure was 5 lbs to low. any other reasons or will that be the only thing. and how do we fix it?

oil pressure. its the only reason your vtec doesn't come one normally, unless your car isn't warmed up

the oil pressure was only 5 pounds lower than normal. i was told that wouldnt affect it. the oil levels were fine.

I just answered your question on the import atlanta forum.

I had the same issue when I went to mainsream.

What size exhasut are you running. I had a turbo muffler stuffed in my exhaust and it was very limiting and not allowing the car to breath above 6500-7000 rpms. As I stated on the other site you will ALWAYS throw a p1259 dtc if vtec doesn't engage. Trust me I am a pro when it comes to this dtc.

p.s. Scott Siegel is a $hitty tuner and should not be tuning an s2k. He put my last MAP in and I changed back to Turbo Daves the next day. 400+ dollars out the door.
