Default VTSC V3 7.5psi

Hi all,
I was suppose to post my experience on my new v3 vortech kit I have install yesterday but sounds like the blower is already having issues after <100 miles on the road.

It was a new complete kit from vortech (reflash) and was getting 341whp and 221tq with 7.5psi on a dynapack. I was pretty excited and drove around town most of the night without any problems. When I came home my garage is quiet and I can hear the car winding with gear noise at idle.

Took it back to the shop and identify that is indeed the charger making internal gear noises. Going to take it out of the car and ship it back hopefully tomorrow.
Vortech won't pay for the labor and shipping back to them either

updated: uploaded vids of noise at bottom

dude, i have the same sound. And the other two guys i know with it have the same noise. It isnt a bad thing. I dont know what it is but it isnt a bad noise. If it sounds like gravel ratteling around in this blower thats what we all have. I didnt hear it until it was broke in. Just my experience.

But i did flip out at first cause my Tuner said the same thing. Im at about 10k miles with it and still not a single issue with the blower. The Headgasket is another one. Ha. GL

Yes the Vortec will make a gravel grinding sound. its very noticeable at idle. This is because the blower is gear driven and what your hearing is the gears chattering a bit.

Its normal and nothing to worry about.

both these videos you'll hear a slight sound. its easier to hear in the 2nd video.

It might be gear lash noise. Some Vortech snails are louder than others. I've heard some very loud V3s that sounded like coffee grinders. Some where the lash noise overwhelmed the whistle. Nothing wrong just normal noises.
Let us know what Vortech says.
