Default Walbro 255 or Aeromotive 340?

So I'm doing my research before I eventually go FI. I wanted to know which is a better route for the fuel pump. I'm not expecting to go higher than 400 hp and keep it as a DD. I would probably get a used turbo kit when I find a good deal and most kits will not come with the fuel pump. The Walbro 255 would probably be more than enough or my needs but I hear complaints about it whining and not working well when the gas tank is low. Would it be a waste of money to just upgrde to the Aeromotive 340 from the get-go (about $60 difference)? Or should I just get the Walbro 255? I can't hurt the turbo kit or engine by having a more-flowing fuel pump can I?

Anyone using the Aeromotive 340 now, do u hear the whine that most people with Walbro 255 pumps are referring to?

Thanks!

the aeromotive just came out so there isn't really any feed back on it yet, for that power level the regular walbro 255 would be fine, I ran a walbro 255 for the last 2 years with no problems, I dont hear it either

400 or less, walboro is good to go. 400+ aeromotive is the way to go. basic conclusion from science of speed.

walbro is good to near 500whp and even more when you spray water/meth and a kbap.

now, if the aeromotive was out back when i swapped, i def woulda picked one up. they have great track record for other parts. if it wasnt such a pita to swap, id maybe switch to it. but i am gonna jsut rewire my pump and call it a day.

I've heard great things about the Aeromotive Pump recently, but I will say that I've had my Walbro 255 pump installed in my car since 2002 that came with the Comptech SC kit, I now use it with my turbo setup that pushes the numbers you're looking for with no problem.

Sounds like I can't go wrong with either fuel pump. Wouldn't hurt to get the Aeromotive in case there are any future desires for more power. I just don't want to hear the whine of the Walbro that some people mention. I get paranoid when I hear irregular noises. Lol
