Ive been looking up a whole bunch of diy's and the ones with pictures doesnt really mention anything about wiring. are the wires that came with the fuel pump necessary?

 

You just remove the stock fuel pump and connect in the walbro into the housing. No wiring at all that I can remember. Reuse the Oem fuel sock as well. The walbro one interferes with the gas level indicator I believe.

 

No wiring required, like moddiction said, just unplug one and plug in the new ... i didnt have any trouble with the walbro sock, just make sure that you fill up your tank asap because your fuel gauge needs to re calibrate after being un plugged ... i ran out of gas and gauge read half tank .. oops!

Is this true? I didnt do that when I installed a Walbro yesterday nor the Aeromitive it replaced.

 

I didn't do it either. I don't think it is needed. You just need to make sure when you install it the sock is not held up by anything so it can float correctly to get the right readings.

 

Moddiction, mine will not go under 2 bars at all.

Otherwise, it's pretty normal on the fuel levels. I thought I had made an error in installation, but if the pump interferes a little with the float, I guess my case is normal.

I am not about to go pull it to try to fix as 2 bars means fill-up time anyway.

 

Did you reuse the oem fuel sock? The Walbro one supposedly gets caught up and does not read right. I have not used the Walbro one but was advised not to due to this reason. I have never had an issue with the fuel gauge using the oem sock.

 

I'm using the OEM one. It's quite possible I screwed something up in the install and something is interfering with the float, but it works well enough as going under 2 bars is just asking for a lean condition in boost. I really just don't want to pull it out
