Default Walbro fuel pump problem

Since the install of my Walbro 255 pump my gas gauge will go down to 4 bars, and will not go down any farther. Last night when I left to go out for the night I had 4 bars of gas left, after I did a good bit of driving and was on the way home, I noticed I still had 4 bars of gas left.
I pulled off the highway to a station, and put 2 gallons of gas in, just to see what happened, and the gas gauge only moved to 5 bars, when normally on dead empty with no bars, 2 gallons gives at least 5 bars. Anyone have a similar problem?

This happens when the filter sock on the pump interferes with the sending unit. It requires pulling the pump and reinstalling it making sure they don't touch.

When I installed mine, the float got hung up on the fuel sock. I had to rotate the fuel sock about 45 degrees to ensure the float had full travel. It's a small thing but one that some guys don't attend to.

Same issue here that I caught before putting it in the tank......you will need to pull it out and fix it. I think I used a combination of my old filter with some of the new hardware.

I got it fixed. The floater was getting caught on the sock, just a slight adjustment. Thanks for the help guys.
