Default Walbro255

Can I install a walbro 450 fuel pump and not make any other changes to an otherwise stock ap1?
Im going to be putting together a turbo setup, and would like to get the fuel pump out of the way before winter. Thanks

Wires will probably melt. A walbro 255 is about as big as you can go with stock wiring.

Hardwiring is your only option. A 255 will be hard-pressed to supply enough fuel for even the most mild of turbo setups, and even then you'll be pulling a good amount of current. Get the SOS hardwire kit and call it a day. It's cheap insurance. OR you can toast your wiring, lol.

it really just depends if you plan to run e85 or not. If you don’t plan to run e85, A walbro 255 will support any Amount of power you can make on normal pump fuel 91/93 octane and can support 600ish wheel hp on high octane non ethanol race fuel.

But out if you plan on running e85 and since e85 burn 30%faster than gasoline a walbro 255 typically will not flow enough for most turbo setups.

Personally I'd never try to max out a 255 on stock wiring...no need to thread the needle pointlessly.

So while I’m installing the 450 I’ll also need to increase the wiring gauge and fuse etc. got it.
