are crower parts ok to buy to run higher boost? nothing crazy, looking to push 16psi on my inline stage 1 kit safely.

You dont need a built head to run higher boost. Save the money and get a better manifold.

Yea you dont need a built head. If it's an ap1 I would look over everything an make sure its ok before pushing it especially the retainers and keepers.

well right now im running 400whp @ 12psi on a stage 1 inline kit. i wanna push the turbo to 16psi but ive been told the new "safe number" is 14psi. its more for just peace of mind.

You should build the head eventually when running boost. Over time the valves will warp, wear the guides and eventually break, dropping a valve. Especially the exhaust valves.

the money spent on building a head would be better used to upgrade your manifold setup. you can keep 12psi and make considerable more power
