Thumbs up Which waterpump for larger heat exchanger?

Wondering which water pump people have changed to when getting a larger front mount heat exchanger? I have the stock vortech one with my kit right now. Every time I start my car the pump makes a nasty sound for 15 seconds or so. Does anyone else's make a loud noise like that?
Don't want to spend too much on a new pump especially. Mine seems to work still for the most part but I have read that it is good to upgrade to a stronger pump when upgrading the heat exchanger anyways.

What about the SoS pump? I just bought it with their bigger exchanger but I haven't installed it yet. My stock vortech pump sounds like a dying animal somtimes too.

Not sure how much the pump is but it was 400 with the new heat exchanger. Probably about 70 by itself though.

Damn yeah don't list price for it separately. Maybe I will give them a call. Anyone else change theirs out for a different one? I had seen threads in the past where people found good higher capacity pumps that people used.
Edit actually see one listed for $329 lol. I'll pass on that haha.

Thanks. Bit pricey but I'll keep it in mind.

You can use the oem pump from the ford cobra. I think they go for around 100. It flows plenty (more than the stock vortech unit) and it's oem. What's not to like?. Silicon intakes carries it and they also carry handy pump brackets as well which will make it as close to bolt on as you'll find at this price point.

Moddiction, do you plan on getting a bigger water pump but keeping the same VT-stock/smaller-sized heat exchanger? If so, could a larger water pump theoretically move the water too fast and not allowing it enough time to get cooled while in the heat exchanger? Just curious is all. Not sure how much engineering goes on in deciding which pump to use in terms of flow rate and the radiator size.
