Default well second attempt at the strip ends in failure

After my great outing at the strip last week i thought i would try again with more boost and a higher launch control setting. Needless to say diffy didnt like that. I know i have one that i decided i didnt need tonight. Thankfully our shop has a on call wrecker and he was in the neighborhood. It was a bit humbling to load the car in front of 2000 people though. The strip was packed.

Sucks but you couldnt have been too suprised when it broke. This is why I won't be taking my S to the drag strip until I get a Ford 8.8 diff.

^ Love the signature brotha

did you just dump the clutch with the launch control on stock rear?? Thats suicide brotha. I am telling you, pre-load that F---- with the E-brake and get consistent 1.9-2.0 60fts.............Sure it's kinda slow off the line, but it beats getting towed home Whats the plan, Ford 8.8 or another OEM?

Well its not so bad after all. We dropped the car back at the shop and dropped it in one of my bays for a quick peek. The diffy survived after all, the driver side axle snapped at the inboard joint. Looks like the inner joint basically exploded. The diffy fluid is clean and it rolls smooth and quiet. So could be worse. I was on my 5th pass of the night, and I finally got lined up with a nice gt500 on drag radials. Being an ex cobra man myself I REALLLY wanted to spank that ass. I had been rather easy on the launch the first four passes, preloading and pulling 1.90 60's. This time I was talking to the car as I pulled up to the tree. I told her were about to f-ck the stang up baby. Well I bumped the controller up one more pound to 19 and held it to the floor. I see Yellow, yellow, yellow, Go Go Go POWWWW. I rolled about 3 feet before it snapped. Anyway the wifey got a vid from her camera as my GoPro will not arrive till tomorrow unfortuneately. For now I guess i'm gonna throw another axle in it as I can not justify the pricetag of the Fullblown goodness for a toy car. Since I work on cars for a living, and have been drag racing for a long time its sort of expected to brake some shit now and again. All in all the car ran great though, I picked up my mph to almost 92 in the eighth and it pulls 1.90 60s with ease. I'll be back. I'll post up the pics and vids when the camera recharges.

Damn well thats alright dude an Axel is nothing!! Get that thing back together and keep ripping!!!! I wonder if it would be possible to make bolts for the axles that would snap before the diff. Sure would save us a lot of hassle!

I've "broken" 2 driver side axles myself. Both in the inner joint as well. The gears inside the boot stripped both times.
