what do i need
I have read a lot of threads here regarding upgrading the basic comptec kit. I could be wrong, but I think the novi 1000 head will max out at about 9k rpm with a 3.5 inch pully. So that means every bounce off the revlimiter is pushing the saftey of the equiptment.
Or am I wrong?

I bought a Comptech S/C from Tech2 and it had a 9psi pulley on it, I was told not to run the pulley unless I had larger injectors and some sort of fuel management i.e. emange or stand alone. So I'm gonna run the 7psi pulley by just adjusting the comptech fmu. Hope that helps.
Is the 8 psi pulley custom? Ive only seen 7 , 9, and 11. From what everyone says and my experience. Anyting over 7 psi, you need injectors. Also if you have bigger injectors you need ecu tuning like a Emanage or AEM.
7 psi stock injectors and FPR turned up is safe.
Most importantly, dyno tune.

On the '04 S2000 that we just tuned, the FMU wasnt enough for me to adjust the fuel with the Tech2 "7psi" pulley(the pulley actually made 8psi not 7). Even with a VAFC in the car, it still wouldnt do anything for adding fuel in the lean spots. The fuel pressure is nearly 100psi at WOT, thats alot of FP for small injectors. I put a larger set of injectors in, turned the FP back down, and the VAFC now effectively controls the fuel. The car made good power, I believe it was 335whp on a hot pull, so there was actually more tied up in there, but these are just numbers, the owner cares more about the timeslips LOL. At any rate, Im not sure if this will apply to the 00-03 models, this was an 04 which does have some different characteristics. In my opinion, I dont think a VAFC is enough in the way of engine management when you get beyond the above stated boost level. I would have to see the timing at WOT to know for sure, but my guess is that much boost with the amount of timing in the stock ecu, would be too much...that and the VAFC doesnt help as with many other cars, when the ecu sees less maf voltage, it will compensate with giving the car more timing....thats a recipe for a blown up motor. Does anyone know if the stock ecu timing parameters have ever been pulled from the computer by anyone?
