Default What is preferred rim size when going Turbo?

So im going to be doing roughly 350whp.

I really like my stock AP2V1 rims but im concerned that the 17 inch is not big enough for that kinda power and i may have traction problems. I know most guys that go Turbo always go bigger.

What do you guys think. Can i get away with my 17's or should i definately look at going with an 18 or 19 inch rim?

Diameter is not the concern width and camber are the (2) things you want to concern your self with.

How much torque are planning or making?

Nothing less than dubs son!

Seriously though, any size rim that you can fit will "work", just some are better suited.

Stock is 16" / 17" (depending on gen), you could even go up one size if you wanted and not have any problems.

As others have stated, width of the rim/tire, camber and tire material (soft/hard) are something to be considered however.

And I love my AP1s with 255/50/16 Mickey Thompson ET Street Drag Radials. Fills up even more and no rubbing.

Although, the Nittos would be better for a car if you drive in the rain at all. The Mickeys just don't do well in rain. You could pretty much daily drive the car with the 555r Nittos in everything except snow/ice.

Ok so i should be ok then. I will stick on 265's on the back and 225's on the front, that should help.I'll look into camber as well.

Eish cant wait for boost!

What tires are you looking at? Thats the bigger concern IMO.

at 350, you're not gonna be breaking any land speed records, so i wouldnt worry about getting giant meat for the back anyway. as someone said above, stick with a slightly larger tread width tire(same profile) and allow some spin down low. id rather burn a tire than burn a hole in my bank account from busted diff's, axles, trans.

or

be Mc Fresh and go Donk-style. woot woot
