Default What will limit my power most?

Currently I have a Ultimate Racing gen II kit. I am putting down 281 whp and I forget what torque. My block and head are arriving from Laskey racing in the next couple of weeks. Benson sleeves, CP pistons Pauter rods etc etc... The head is getting the full work-up too. Ported, polished, 1 mm oversized exhaust valves etc... etc... Now I know my engine is going to be capable of handling way more power than my current kit can produce. I still have a Spugen dual ti exhaust which is only 2.5" and I think my UR dp is also 2.5". I will have to upgrade to 3" back I would think, but what else is going to limit my power production the most? What should I try to upgrade next? BTW I have AEM EMS. Thanks.

Working off of your question the turbo will be one limiting factor. A gt35R would be a great start. The GT40R has some awesome top end but take a look at where you want your power before choosing. Also isn't that a log manifold? I would get a Full-Race or Lovefab manifold in there. That would be my .02.

Yea it is a log manifold. If I get a new manifold I woulod also have to get a new downpipeand charge piping too, right? Anyone have an idea about how much boost I could push with my current setup or power expectations? Thanks

How much power is my current turbo good for? I just wanna get an idea of what I can expect from my current setup. Pretty please.

If memory serves me, the speedcraft kits used a similar manifold/turbo. (log manifold, and a 60-1 T3T4) The maxed out Speedcraft car I know of made in the 525 range, with race gas and 9:1 CR, and a 3" exhaust.

Pump gas # where in the mid 400's.

I was at UR a few weeks ago and was asking the same questions as you are. I believe Darryl was who I spoke with. He said on pump gas, the max your looking at is about 390 whp at 17 psi. On race gas, you can reach about 450 whp at 20+ psi.

I think the main limiting factor is the turbo itself. They still use the old T3/T04E journal bearing turbos, so your first upgrade should be to get one of the Garrett GT ball bearing turbos (one of the larger GT30's or a GT35 series). The 2.5" dp and log manifold are probably your next limiting factors.

Btw, how do you find the UR turbo kit? Has it been reliable for you? Did you start out with the Greddy E-Manage and later upgraded to the AEM EMS? Who tuned the AEM EMS for you?

IMHO, I think that 600whp is a bit optimistic for the T3/T04E that comes with the UR kit. This turbo is about equivalent in size to a GT30 series turbo which means you're looking at around 450 to 500 hp. To reach 600 whp which is like 700+ crank hp, you'd need to go to at least a GT35.

I have the same setup (minus EMS) Ive heard this turbo should be good for around 20+psi, but the limiting factor is definately the MANIFOLD. I would look at a GT35 turbo also and you might have some problems with getting enough fuel to your setup. Im in the process of researching that for myself so im not positive on it.
