What are you doing to reduce engine temp?

What are you guys doing to reduce engine temp under the hood? Now with my supercharger, the heat under the hood is hotter than hell. Any suggestions? I was thinking about getting the hood vented but want to see what else is out there before I cut the hood.

vented hood is probably the best option. When I cut mine on the right side, I could see heat wave billowing out all the time. I also made a custom oil cooler setup (turbo car). One more thing is to get the intake down low and away from the radiator and into flowing air.

I just finished my build, and to cover cooling I got a Koyo, Cooling plate, wrapped header, and Aftercooler. I am running straight water and water wetter.

When I first got the car on the road, I was running a Jeff Evans E-tune on a 3.8" pulley on a novi1200. Despite SOS saying its a 13psi pulley, with my J's racing header, and J's testpipe, psi was only 11psi at my ap2's increased rev limit of 8500.

I went for a 3hr dyno session for fine tunning. It got to 8500 just fine, and it registered 351hp untuned. I was after bigger power so rather then farting around on the dyno to get another 30 or so hp, I switched the pulley to an SOS 3.6" which they claim is 15psi. That pulley ended up registering 12.5psi. But first I had to figure out why the car was only reving out to 8000rpm now. After 30min I of fiddeling with revlimits in Hondata, the lightbulb went off. So I pulled the ngks and gapped them from standard down to .025.". Afterwhich, it hit its 8500 at ~400whp.

Looooong story short, days prior driving around on 11psi and 350hp, I did not have any issues with heat soak. On 12.5psi and 400hp I do have issues with heat soak. On 90+ deg. days, it will now heat soak after about an hour of driving around. Afterwhich it will have about 200hp. My theory of solution to tackle heatsoak is different from others. I bought an aftermarket catback exhaust, to increase the efficancy of this motor, lowering psi to a predicted 11psi. It will also lower EGT's which is where my prediction of effectivness against heat soak comes from. I want those spent gasses to get the hell on out of my motor, and not just sit there and mingle. The exhaust should be in in a few weeks. I'll let yall know if it does the trick.

water wetter is a nono with our antifreeze. In time it gets milky and sludgelike. Billman has a good thread on it somewhere. I had always wondered why I had sludge in my antifreeze when I flushed it, this was why

PS. if you do water wetter, do like above, straight distilled water and water wetter

fwiw, I'm using Acura Type 2 (Same as Honda Type 2; the Acura dealership is closer to my house lol). No problems with overheating (temp is between 194-204) and my coolant is a deep blue with no contaminants after the most recent flush
