whats the diff between AEM 1012 and 1052
i currently have the AEM 1012 with UEGO but a lot of people use the 1052 what are the extra advantages besides size that people get this one or is it because they dont sell the 1012 and more and the 1052 is just newer?

its smaller (so it fits where the stock ecu used to go) and it doesn't some issue the 1012 had with like pre-02 cars or something (I forget what the problem was)
The problem has to do with the injector drivers in the 1012 units. The EMS will have a hard time controlling the injectors in the 00/01 model years, causing the car to shut off seconds after you start it up.
AEM will update the unit free of charge if you contact their warranty dept. about it.

so since i have an 02 I shouldn't have this issue?
I have moments were at idle the car sometimes likes to shut off. This past weekend the car decided not to turn back on for a good 20 mins. Do you guys think this would tie into that issue? I can't help but think it's my tune though. I'm currently running RC 750's
And of course I bought my ems used.

ATOice, so being that my ems is used do you think they would take care of it even though I don't have any receipts for it?
Also does my issue sound like it would be related to this problem?

Yes, they will update it even if it's used. I bought my turbo kit used which came with a used 1012 unit. I already had a 1052U that I bought for my previous Inlinepro kit, so I sold the 1012 and the person that bought it had these issues AT INLINEPRO while tuning. He was upset and thought I sent him a defective unit (which upset me at first to think that the person I bought it from sent me it knowingly) but then learned about the injector driver problem.
Steve (geist2k) helped me out by contacting a friend at AEM and they just said to have me contact their warranty dept. and the buyer sent it in, and had it back in less than 2 weeks.
However, it may just be the changing season - even the stock ECU will shut off sometimes as the weather changes. However, 20 minutes is a long time for it not to work (did you try resetting the battery?) so it might be an issue with your EMS but it could also be your tune. I'd contact AEM tomorrow morning and ask them about it; I'm sure they'll update it free of charge if it is indeed the unit as their customer service seemed great. If I remember correctly the warranty guy's name is Henry
