Where to buy smaller pulleys for the Comptech S/C?

Hey nzaizar what kind of set up are you running to go with such high boost? Did you go with a thicker headgasket or did you build the motor?

Full motor build (not by choice) I dropped a valve and you can buy a new Alaniz motor for a little bit more than you can get a new one from Honda ! the following is the build from
http://www.alaniztechnologies.com/f20c1parts.html

"HIGH Boost Engine Package" starting at $6700.00 (6-8 week down time)

LABOR/PARTS INCLUDED

Big Bore up to 89mm. Brings displacement up to 2090cc.
Replace with high strength ductile iron sleeves.
ARIAS Forged pistons 9.5:1CR
Rings for high boost made in USA.
Rods (Cunningham rods made to our specifications)
New oil pump
Street Master head work (bowl work and chambers only)
Titanium retainers
New bronze valve guides (intake and exhaust)
Competition inner springs with locators
.5mm stainless steel oversize valves on intake, 1mm on exhaust
New Gaskets and seals (long block only)
Balance engine
Blueprint block to ALANIZ race specifications.
This package is intended for very high 18+lbs boost applications. A good piece of mind "bullet proof block". Expert engine tuning is a must.

This is getting popular, I bought the same thing from Joe in December, getting the motor re-installed as we speak. Two words of wisdom, BE PATIENT.

Ha, yeah I know Joe is a great guy and I have haven't driven my car in almost two months - My motor is being built as we speak and hope to have it within two weeks! How are you doing your break in? I am just using my setup that I had with the original motor - Comptech S/C w/7 psi pulley then after break in I will install my 650 injectors bigger boost pulley and AEM!

I have you beat on down time by about 4 months, not related to Alaniz work.

Don't know how I'm gonna break it in to be honest, I know will in some form, defering to Joe and UL how I do that when my car's ready to drive. Probably an easy breakin period for about 1,000 miles before getting it tuned. You'll probably get/need a base tune on your EMS if you run it as soon as you get your motor put back in with the upgraded injectors. Our setups sound similar, albeit I've swapped out the Novi 1000 for a Novi 2000 and have a crazy high boost pulley.

Wow, It sounds like you will have a monster on your hands Finances dictate that I will be using my Novi 1000 maxed out , How much was the Novi 2000 if you don't mind me asking? (I heard that 14 lbs. is the max for the Novi 1000) - What kind of boost are you looking at?

I was told by Paxton the Novi 1000 peaks at 55,000 rpm. The smallest pulley on the f20c you can run is 3.19"(if I have done the calculations right). You find this out by dividing the crank pulley size by the blower pulley size then multiply by that sum by 3.54. This will give you a huge number. Take that number and multiply it by the engine redline. (5.5 / 3.19 x 3.54 = 6.103******** x 9000 = 54,931 rpm) I think this will just be shy of 12lbs.

I''m not auto/motor math savvy at all, but the your numbers sound consistent with what I've heard about the upper limit of the Novi-1000 and on the S2000.

Paxton has a credit/upgrade program for the Novi-1000 to Novi-2000, depending on condition of the blower, they'll credit you from $700-$1000, then you pay the retail differenct for the Novi-2000, another $1,200-1,400 depending if it's polished.

The boost output on the Novi-2000 for the same pulley size on the Novi-1000 is different, Paxton estimated about 3 more psi for the same size pulley put on Novi 2000.

I just got off the phone with Paxton and they told me that the max boost of the Novi 1000 is 15 lbs at 850 cfm and the max boost of the Novi 2000 is 25 lbs. at 1700 cfm and Paxtonauto.com will offer you a credit for your Novi 1000 for a swap for either $750.00 or $1000.00 depending on condition.
I suck at math but thanks for the calculations anyway - I was hoping I could try a 3 inch pulley to get around 13 pounds of boost but there seems to be so many variables that I don't know or understand like with my new engine setup I have oversized valves and free flowing custom 3 inch exhaust etc... I appreciate your feedback!

EDIT: I just saw your above post about the credit - not bad for an upgrade I don't know if I an afford it right now but something to consider - any other benefits other than higher boost going with the Novi 2000 ?
