If that question was directed to me, the engine has 105k on it. It ran fine for 2 weeks after it was tuned. IMO Shawn Church is a great person and oustanding tuner. Also imo it was due to my own stupity. Pushing the car beyond its limits is what messed it up, not the quality of the tune.

I have an aftermarket oil filter relocator and cooler on it. Two of the lines are 5 feet long and the third is 3 feet long. Because of that i think i had a drop in oil pressure at high rpms. I was holding over 8k for about 30 secs or so in 6th trying to see if i could redline limit the speed of the car. Well now there is a weird tap that is only audible at idle. Anything other than that and its silent, even under hard reving. I think i either floated a valve and its slightly bent, or maybe scored the wall of the cylender if i had a pressure drop. Also the oil dipstick was blown out of the hole and i have crank vents. Who knows, it could be a million diffrent things. The only way to find out is to tear it apart and rebuild it.

No one has said how much it cost them to have it rebuilt. Is it one of those things that if you have to ask you cant afford it?
off topic but what top speed did you reach?

Its a 2000 and no the banjo bolts were never changed. My tap isnt quite as loud but does almost the exact same thing. Was that from a scored cyl?

No disrespect intended, I know they are on top of it over there. Was just curious as to the state of the engine during the tune. Sounds like the motor was a bit tired.
None taken.

i also have the ap2 trans so i dont know if that had anything to do with it or not. There are thousands of other things that could help account for that... ie, the downgrade of the road and such. I was going way to fast to really give a good account for it. What i do know for a fact is i hit 161mph on the exact same road with an ap2 trans, intake and exaust only. Granted it only did 157 for a long time, then i got on a slight downgrade and it went to 161 and when i leveled out it was still able hold it.
