Default Who smokes? *POLL*

I went from a built NA engine with 150,000 miles that didn't smoke under WOT and only drank a little oil at the track, to a 450hp supercharged monster with 15lbs of boost that immediately started drinking oil and smoking pretty good under WOT.

Compression and leak down are within limits, but, it's just damn embarrassing, you know? I'll leave most everybody in the dust if I want to, but also in a cloud of smoke. Thinking about re-ringing the pistons.....So, how many of you smoke as well?

Do you have a catch can? My car doesn't smoke at all and doesn't burn a drop of oil.

It's not a catch can issue. It's an issue of oil forcing itself past the piston rings.

BTW, if you are FI, go ahead and take the poll.

krankvents and catch cans have fixed most of my smoking issues and that was usually if i was in race track conditions not normal street miles

My stock f20c with 125,000 miles burns about a quart of oil every 1400 miles but it does not smoke at all.

Only thing that smokes with mine at WOT is excess fuel. Mine has never lost a drop of oil but it also only has 16k miles on it. Been boosted since 3k miles and change the oil every 1000 miles with Amsoil.

D'oh! Smoke on mine is not real bluish, although I've only seen it at night. Gonna check into that. Thanks for reminding me.

I'm boosted too but haven't had anyone tell me I'm smoking. While on the dynamic for tuning it was pretty crazy though but that was fuel

Fuel yes, oil no. The only oil I lose end up in my catch can.
