Default Wire tuck/extension Question

Getting ready to attempt this project. Just wondering what wire you guys used when you performed your wire tuck/extension. Did you buy a spare wire harness and work from that? if not what was used? I know that there are different grades of insulation protection and would like to know what works best for this application, as well as where it was purcahsed from. Thank you.

I bought an extra stock harness. IMO it makes things 100x times easier beccause it keeps all the colors and sizes consistant with oem. Definitely worth the $50 bucks or so

Yeah I tend to reuse wire that I have cut out of the harness, or the regular stuff found at places like autozone if I need.

A spare harness would be nice, did you guys go to a recycler (Junk Yard) to find the harness?
