Nice bikes. Quick and dumb question for the BMX riders. I want to get a BMX bike but not sure what size I need. The local walmart sells a Boy's 26"... will that work for me? I rode it and it seems to fit ok... and when I see older people riding bmx bikes, the size of the bike appears just like the boy's size. Is there a boy's and adult size BMX? If so, where can I get one online? Thanks

i am the man to ask about this.
yes there are many many sizes for bmx.
danscomp.com will help you out.
give me your physical stats and i can help you too.
frame lengths differ so that is how a 6 foot man can ride a 20incher,

you are pretty average in stats so i would look for a "XL" sized frame ......meaning that the top tube(the one you would hurt your junk on if you slipped off the seat) is gonna be longer than the "pro" sized frame by about an inch. i am 5"10 and ride an xl sized frame as well,..depending on the frame(some rear ends on frames are too short or too long for my liking) so sometimes i switch out the "stem"(what holds the handlebars) to an XXL stem so the bars sit further forward. to give a bit more room. An inch makes a world of difference in bikes.
you also might be interested in the "cruiser" bmx bike....they have 24inch wheels and are very nice for cruising around on but still being able to hit some jumps on. they are very popular among older guys who wanna race.
i actually like racing cruiser class better than 20inch because the bikes are easier to jump and the gearing is easier but you can go faster on them with less effort.
as far as money,..you get what u pay for. i would suggest getting something with a 3 piece crank as they are WAY more durable than a 1 piece which most cheap bmx bikes come with. Snapping a crank upon landing is no fun and to brake a 3 piece is almost impossible.
do you want a light bike or is heavier ok???? heavier bikes will give you the option of the "freestyle" line of bikes......48 spoked rims as apposed to 36 on race bikes makes for a stronger rim for jumping stairs and things, the front brake option for tricks and pegs for grinds. i would think you would like the 24 inch cruiser line best though . Way easier on the back if you will be sitting down and riding
