Getting my car ready for paint. My friend Richard(R Rabe Body & Paint) is doing all the body work for me and he will be painting it for me.

Dropped off the car on tuesday 02/13 with the ASM bumper, rear over fender. The car is currently multicolored. It has GPW fenders, yellow hardtop, silverstone rear bumper, and champ white hood and body.




He started working on the rear quarter panels on both side. There was a big dent on both sides because of the fender pulling. He is cutting out the fender for me in order to put a set of ASM rear over fenders so I have more clearance for the work wheels.




I will be updating this thread when more work is done... Im so excited!!!



on 02/15 Primered the areas worked on 02/14 and , removed the door panels and weatherstripping around the door and the side mirrors. Also removed the front bumper and sanded it









02/18. sanded the whole car. removed the factory vinyl sticker around the windshield frame and filled in the deep scratches of the rear bumper.

Painted the A-pillar frame.

02/20 Update!!!

Prepainted the front bumper and fender flares to check the mixture of the paint. will be reshot when the whole body is painted. Also prepainted the door jambs. Tell me what you guys think...

Update:2/23/07

Well, the cars ready to paint. Called up the shop where i was gonna rent the booth and they said that theyre using the booth saturday, sooo, i cant paint on saturday, dammit. So painting next week.

Today i colorsanded and buffed out the hardtop...




Getting there, should be done by mid next week!!!

03/08 car is almost there. I though it was going to be done this week but we had to go to an event so we've been sanding the car for 3.5 days. buffing it out the next two days and should be done by saturday!

Whats the final color going to be? (or are we allowed to know)

 

I was going to paint it Lamborgini Grigio Telesto but I couldn't find the paint code so I chose something else. The color is going to be a variation of Moonrock. You'll see!!!

Sounds cool. I know its no Grigio Telesto but may wanna check out Audi Nimbus grey. Obviously its no Lambo color but its pretty close. Especially considering Audi owns Lambo..

hey have you ever seen that gray volvo (S60 i believe) in Vegas that has time attack style wheels on it? last time i was out there is was parked outside NYNY when i was waiting on a taxi. looked pretty nice.
