They have a 160 hp 2.0 liter 4 (base RSX engine). They only rev to 6800 rpm. 
They are also slow...0-60 in 8 seconds, 1/4 in the 16s, according to Car and Driver. I think the Type R is out in Europe and Japan. It revs to 8000 rpm and has 200 hp. It uses the RSX-S engine. 0-60 times are reportedly in the mid sixes. I read Honda might bring the Type R to the U.S. and was/is hesitant to because it might steal RSX sales.

If it has the same engine as the RSX base, 0 - 60mph should be about 7.0-7.5 seconds, unless it is heavier than the RSX..... I doubt that.

Civic Type R -02 is realy common here in Sweden and in www.hondaklubben.com
CTR only cost about $22.000 new with AC in Sweden.
Tha fastest CTR in "Honda Preformance Club" has done 0-401m in 14.473 @ 157 km/h
and that with only a new exhaust (rear muffler only) and remowing off stock airbox and using a replacementfilter. the rest of the car was compleatly stock.
