Default 2004 Rear Wing Second Thoughts

I have a stock 2004 GPW and ordered the rear wing. But now I am thinking this may not be what I am looking for. I might want the original spoiler (the lip) instead.

Please post pics of the 04/05 rear wing installed. Any color is fine but obviously GPW would be great.

Thanks!

I'm with ya on the 04 rear wing. I either prefer the smaller "lip" or the Mugen SS wing.

I was thinking about the new wing. Pretty pricey though. Why don't you like it? I think it's really nice. Sporty but not too aggressive or ricey.

im down for the lip. to me wing ruins the contour of the body.
i would def. opt for mugen or ing's if i want Wing sorta looking, otherwise OEM lip is hot.

Has anyone added the lip spoiler to a MY04/05? I am assuming that since the wing fits on previous years that that the lip will fit on the updated models.

The lip on 04 should at least it would confuse alot of people.

I do like the OEM wing, but as others mentioned, I think the lip may work better with the curves of the back end. The S2000 is interesting in that the front end is blocky but the rear is very contoured.

I have an appt to install wing tomorrow... I may reschedule or cancel.

My .02 on the wing is I do not like how it is flush with the trunk lid from the side profile. The original lip overhung the trunklid and ..atleast to me, looks sportier adn folows the lines better than the wing. I suppose that if the wing was like the original spoiler in that it overhung some I would be all over it. That was actually the only prob I had with it but it was enought fo me not to buy it. If you want, take a look at my pics, particularly the 3rd from left on the top. You can see how the lip overhangs the trunklid.. Eigther way, its all about what you like. Just my opinion.
Good luck deciding!

There are plenty of '04+ models with the original lip. It doesn't look bad at all. On the other hand, the '04 wing doesn't flow well with the S2000s lines at all. It interrupts the flow of the lines and upsets the car's visual balance.

My opinion
