Friend of mine was there for championships, driving a Mini Cooper I believe. And that CRX in the first pic, I think he's a local NC car. If that's him, that guy can drive, well. Let me borrow some skill, lol. I'm done getting worked by Miatas/MX-5s.
The mid-range power is alot stronger on the CR vs the AP1. It makes more TQ from the .2L increase and also the lower gearing. The AP1 and the CR both weight right at 2600 LBS.
The rear suspension geometry is different and is less dynamic. on the AP1 I ran 800 LBS rear springs to keep the toe changes minimized and the car predictable. Although I liked the trail braking decompression of the rear because it toes out on corner entry to help with pitching (rotating) the car. After rotating the car I could get back down on the throttle, rear would compress and toe back in and become stable on corner exit. With the CR and Ap2 rear suspension isn't as dynamic so to get the same amount of toe change the rear spring has to be quiet a bit softer and move alot more. I recently moved to a 900F springs with a 600R spring. The car seems great and very settled!
Tailtech seat rail, the passenger side one is a buddyclub. The tailtech rail has the bottom crossbeam cut off so the seat touches the floor board in the car. Which is about 3" or so lower then stock. I'm 6'1" and 175 lbs. The seat is pushed all the way in but still touches the door, not enough to leave a mark though.
