2013 Honda S2000
Here it is...The one and only 2013 Honda S2000!!! Well, at least in Japan in it is a 2013.
I brought my 2005 USDM Rio to Japan with me and nearly a year later (most of which was me waiting) it is finally road legal. The pictures I posted below are not the best but please stand by for more. I haven't had time to do anything other than throw my parts back on and take these couple pictures. I have been planning a surprise baby shower for my wife, and it has taken a lot of my time. (probably cause I am a dude and we don't usually do those things)
Anyway, back to the car.
I sent the car through the one and only emissions facility for imported vehicles in Tokyo. The car was tested and passed with flying colors. My next step was waiting out winter (200" of snow) before we had the car JCI'd. JCI is a mandatory government inspection/insurance required for all cars in Japan. New cars are good for 3 years while all others are good for 2. It can be pricey to keep old cars on the road here. Once again the car was great until the last step...headlights. I had to purchase JDM AP1 lights in order to pass inspection. The USDM light pattern is opposite and the inspectors weren't going to let it go. The only other mods required was installing a road flare, and adding a shift pattern placard due to my aftermarket shift knob. Since the car is technically new in Japan, my title says model year 2013. It is kind of funny, but in a sense it is somewhat true. BTW, I didn't choose my tag #, it came like that.
I will be taking more higher quality pics as I learn my new camera and as I go more places with it.

Refil-hs Tuning Shop
Just stopped by Refil-hs in Morioka, Iwate Prefecture today. This is my first ever trip to a designated "Honda" and "S2000" shop. It was pretty cool considering it is not too far from where we live. These guys have a cool blog and they host track days at Sugo and Sendai Highland Circuits. They also have meets and seasonal cruises. Their blog shows some pretty cool attendees at the events. They are also in the latest S2000 Hyper Rev issue.

A 2005 can go for mid $30,000. I have seen 2009 type Ss for $56,000. There is no way I could afford one here. Also, you can't bring a car newer than 25 years old back to the states. By bringing my own I am not wasting money on a car I can't keep. Plus, being LHD it is already getting offers in our rural location for $25,000. Due to the offers I am considering the option of selling...but the wife doesn't ever want to sell ours. (Sentimental value)
