I have seen much debate on this forum concerning this subject. If I am summarizing correctly, bone stock the 350Z has more torque and can take an S2000 from the line (equal drivers) with ease. However in the quarter mile they both achieve a 14 sec quarter.

I believe the difference is that when you mod a 350Z that you can achieve gains "easier" than a S2000.

I could be full of shit as well and can't summarize worth a crap. I know this, the 350Z roadster is slower than us...which IMO is like vs like. Can you imagine if they made a s2000 "track" or something like it as a coupe?

On the first run it was fairly close, on the second run, it looked like the 350Z had a better jump. All in all, the 350Z benefits more from bolt ons. Two, a 04-05 S2000 would fair a little better, and lastly, if you want to test a 350Z and S2000, take it to a back road where the S2000 will easily walk away. Stangs and Camaros go in straight lines, not S2000s and 350s.

To me, especially based on the second run, that looked like a 12 second car versus a 14 second car. That didn't look like two 14 second cars racing.

People have put on the OEM hard top and removed the softtop and all related mechanics. They freed up a handful of poundage and increased aerodynamics slightly. I guess that's about as "track" as you can get only using what Honda offers.

I'd like to have two S's. One for daily driving, and one for ripping around the track - but I guess we could all say that (:
