i think the 350z is cool... and the track model comes with 18" volk wheels, and Brembo brakes..

but still... the S looks (and handles) better..

It would be nicer if Nissan made the 350Z a bit smaller, around 3050-3100 lbs (~3200lbs now). But I guess they wanted it "big", more room for the tall folks.

Not only will it weigh more than the coupe, wanna bet it will be twisty like a pretzel? Unless the car was designed from the ground up to be a roadster like the S, it's gonna shake, rattle and roll down the street once they chop the roof off the car.

I agree with some of SCC's 350Z comments. The wheel wells look like they should be filled up with larger tires/wheels...there is a AWD-look to the car as is. The rear 1/4-panel lights look out of place and take up too much room, the door handles painted to match would have made the body a bit more streamlined visually but there are design elements to the car I do like. The Porsche homage isn't lost on anyone but to me, the car doesn't look all that different from the original 240 if you follow the roofline and that's a COOL thing. The steering wheel, however, is perhaps, the ugliest one available in a sportscar (my .02). It looks like something pulled from an SUV. The moving dash (think Subaru XT6 or Isuzu Impulse here) always seems to be a nice idea but unfortunately, it appears several of Nissan's upcoming offerings will all share the same dash. I saw pics of their upcoming SUV and the interior looked oddly wayyyy to much like the Z car. Is Nissan becoming this generation's K-car company? Too much sharing of body/engine parts spells profits but lack of long term identity.

it has a slightly better power to weight ratio at the wheels, so in a straight line it *should* be able to take the S, especially given a broader torque curve.

however, most of the magazines are coming up with basically identical numbers. 5.x 0-60 and 14.0 1/4.

Any idea what kind of power/performance the roadster version will have ? I guess that's our main competitor.
