Default After market intake pics

I'm thinking about getting a intake for my newly purchased 00 S2K. After reading some threads though, it seems like this is a pointless thing. I imagine though, after adding a more open exhaust, the combination of both should acomplish something. I've also heard that there is a posibility of the AEM V2 sucking up water. I live in Oregon where wet weather is a garenty so this is a concern. I was wonding if any of you all had pics of the AEM, FIPK, or any other intake that eliminates the factory air box, so I can see how they sit in the engine bay.

Ok, so it looks like the comptech keeps the air filter away from water, but what is that bulge in the middle of the pipe? it looks like some sort of canister.
