were you on a cruise ship? or just local cruise?
Both. I did a one-week cruise on a large ship, and I did a one-week land tour, and during all of that I did two separate local tours on smaller boats and also took a "water taxi" across Prince William Sound to get from Whittier to Valdez to start the land tour. Most of the above shots with water in them came from the smaller boats. You can get a lot closer on the smaller boats, and the captains have a lot more flexibility in altering course to go where the wildlife is on a particular day.

I said that cuz the ice calving one, the close up one of the bald eagle, and the orca one look like they are taken from ppl who are professionals and just camp around to get footages/shots of those type of things. I mean, the close up one, looks TOO PROFESSIONAL as the ice calving one. What are the odds you were there and it occured. I dono, I watch the discovery channel and things on wild life and shit of this nature a lot and those images from past researches i have done look all too similar. I mean, im not saying you aren't capable of such shots, but doesn't fall together for me.

actually, i think the calving thing happens more regularly than you think. when i was there (over 10 yrs ago), i went out into the fjords and in the 15 minutes or so that we were stopped near the glaciers, we saw the calving take place. and yes, the little boats do let you get up pretty darn close!

Looks like you had a great time. I'm still laughing like hell that someone would actually insinuate that you'd "fake a vacation."
