Default Alcantara/Leather Dash

Well, finally had enough time to sit down and work on my own car in between customers

I wanted to go with a stitched dash but didn't want to go overboard with the Alcantara so I did a combo that I think flows well into the lines of the doors. I was also kind of tired of the yellow stitch since I've had that in my last five interior projects and decided to go with a nice silver to play off the existing radio and console trim pieces as well as the door handle rings.

Anyway, the end result is what you see here. While I was at it, I did a retrofit for the 06+ glove box area on the dash. Not too hard but definitely a good bit of cutting involved. It adds so much more convenience to the interior IMO.

Taking it all apart...

All Alcantara steering wheel with embroidered center stripe. I went the extra mile here and covered the airbag. Don't worry though, the seams are placed in the proper break away areas and are sewn using breakaway thread. The center is perforated along the break line so it all unfolds easily and doesn't interfere with the airbag deployment.

Leather and Alcantara sill...

Center console was upgraded with the standard boot and elbow pad but I went a step further and did the coin tray/shifter surround. I also had a special knob milled out to fit the interior better.

Getting those lines straight was a pain but definitely looks good after it was done. Notice the passenger side airbag was also done in breakaway stitch so it's continuous with the leather surround.

Upgraded glove box...

The door panels were made to mate up exactly to the stitch lines of the dash. Also everything was seamed so the door had no issues closing. All the seam lines are dead on the edges.

Anyway, that's pretty much it. I still have seats and other things to do. I want to eventually do the roll hoops this time. I'm thinking about changing out the layout again though. It was all done with charcoal black Alcantara (9002) and I think I want to go with the pure black with red stitch this time. We'll see though, I've changed my mind about the interior 100 times already.

Thanks for looking.

Everything looks good, not a fan of the wheel being fully covered, but still impressive work!

Wow... I thought you couldn't retrofit the 2006 glovebox on the older models...?
