I don't think I've ever seen him win once in any touge showdowns, despite if he had the better car or not. He always seemed to have trouble keeping up with Orido or Tsuchiya. I'm definitely glad they cut out that guy.
and ROFL at Tsuchiya in that vid..he's such an asshole

for all of you talking shit about the drivers, HA HA HA HA HA, i'm sorry but most people interested in motorsports and cars in Japan build cars to improve their driving skill, not like the US where shows and magazine coverage reigns supreme.
every driver that has ever been on that show knows what they are doing, much more than they need to know to drive fast on that "Touge" circuit. Driving on the Touge in the night is a totally different story, you must watch out for other cars, police, boars (haha some places in Kobe) etc. actually most Touge's are basically illegal to drive on from 11pm to like 5am, or atleast until the officer car (or pacemaker if you are feeling stupid) leaves, they will just sit there with there lights on and will pull anyone over that tries to use the road.
Oh not to mention that many mountain roads will have slight speed bumps in some sections
