ENZO splits in half to protect the driver. The engine is mounted right behind the seats so its a saftey precaution. Pretty much the cars chassis is designed around the cockpit. Everything bolts up to it or around it.

The crash was in Nice, France. Apparently, the owner is from Russia and only suffered burns.....Snow in Nice?
