Default another rim refinish thread- edit 2/18/08

Picked up a set of Manaray rims from ebay for uber cheap. yes i said uber.... Right now theyre a pearl white with a polsihed lip but I'd really love to refinish them Takata/Tein green with a black lip, but Ill see what the powder coaters can do since theyre not a multi piece.

Specs:

17x8.5 +46 front 3" lip
17x9.5 +46 rear 4" lip

Pix:

Edit- 2/18/2008

Well I was bored so I decided to take a sander to the lips of the wheels. Started out with 800 and worked up to 2000. Sanded it all wet, and cleaned the rim between each sanding. Only 1 rim had some curbage so i sanded it out with 100 and then worked up to 2000 with that wheel. after the 2000, I washed the rim, worked in rubbing compound- removed with buffer, then metal polish and removed with buffer. These things are smooth as as hell and just being in my basemnt they shine like a mofo! Before i get tires put on im gonna put a coat of wax on them to act like a clear coat. I only took pix of the 1 rim bc they would all look the same.

My p21s is coming in this week and Im gonna scrub rhe shit out of them!

I agree that it's not the nicest looking wheel but I'll be interested to see how it cleans up.
