Most aftermarket lower tie-bars use a rod-end bearing type connection for proper fitment. This however allows the subframe to flex under load and minimizes its effectiveness.

The Beaks subframe tie-bar design has no pivot points. Its square tube configuration provides excellent rigidity and lightweight. Additionally, the Beaks tie-bar is 100% compatible with the Beaks subframe reinforcement kit.

doesn't the stock one do the same thing...this seems more for "bling" factor than anything.

If you ever take the stock one off, you'll see why ppl upgrade them. You can easily twist it with your bare hands.

Have you looked at the underside of an S2000? Have you looked at the OEM brace? It's square, steel, and doesn't use rod-ends to begin with.
